About Shutterbug
Photo Art to Print or Canvas - Full Colour, Sepia or Black & White.
Shutterbug is two people living on 5 acres of natural bush with glorious tall trees and an interesting assortment of wildlife (that doesn’t always co-operate when we get the cameras out). Our little slice of paradise is in the Kennedy Valley in beautiful North Queensland.
We have only in the last few years been able to do what we want in life – taking photographs and travelling. So we combined our two loves and here we are.

We love our travel and of course photograph all manner of interesting things. Australia, with its diversity of scenery, plants, animal and insect life, has given us such pleasure and we recommend travel to all. We also like to see remote out-of-the-way places and enjoy finding little bits of history tucked away. If you know of an interesting location, please contact us. If possible, we will call to see and photograph, so we can share your special place in this fascinating country with everyone.
We find many strange and interesting places this way.
We started selling our photographs in early 2002. We were sending the photos out to be framed, but that wasn’t for us, so decided to learn picture framing ourselves.
Different printers sending back our prints different colours was just so frustrating that we decided to invest in our own printer, which led us into canvas printing and purchasing a laminator to protect the canvases. The rest, as they say, is history.
We now have a whole new outlook on life. Our experience in interior design and the building trades gave us an appreciation of how the simple addition of a few prints in a room can turn the ordinary into something special. Hence, Shutterbug was born and has been growing ever since.
The trend these last few years has been to abstract art.
We have followed the market to some degree, turning our photographs into an assortment of prints to suit all décors, but are still trying to be individual at the same time. I must admit, I have enjoyed the challenge of learning something new yet again. We keep taking our photographs knowing that there are people who still want real photos, a little real bush and history, and eventually everything comes around again and then our selection of Australian flora, fauna, and history will be ready for everyone to enjoy.

Seeing new places, learning new things and meeting new interesting people keeps us young. To be able to earn our living doing all these wonderful things is all we can ask for. Putting together a book telling the stories of everyday people in not-so-everyday locations, with lives that are so interesting they need to be shared with the world, may be our next project and we are already assembling notes.
